Slow boat to China

I managed to come back early from NM, so I got to give CK her birthday beats, proper like. It was a relatively uneventful trip, got some work done, was unable to complete other work. There was an indian casino down the road. A real dive, but it had a 4/8 game going so I spent most of my nights there. They wouldn't bring booze out of the bar. Nothing like gambling dry to keep the losses down. 4/8 limit hold 'em is a really different game than what I usually play. At that small amount of cash everybody chases and plays just about anything. The secret to beating that kind of crap is to hold out, be patient and don't play mediocre hands. For instance, last hand I played pocket 3's for cheap, made my trips on the flop and bet them. This got everyone who had been paying attenyion to my previous betting to fold, but the bimbet at the end of the table hung on to make an 8 high flush on the turn(four clubs on the board and the 8 in her hand). I new she had done it, so I folded. Life is rough.
In better news CK got her delivery from the birthday flower gnomes. I also added some more chocolates. They have a See's Candy in the A terminal at Phoenix Airport, It was like Allah was trying to tell me' get the wife some more chocolate'.

Funny how things work out like that, I am a little on the spontaneous side of things too!
