Pro war Dem defeated in Vermont and the next day the terror alert is at red. Quite the coincidence. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but that stinks of political wrangling. If 4 years of 'war on terror' hasn't made us any safer from disgruntled kids with bombs on planes then it seems clear we have taken the wrong tack.

Except that it was Connecticut - I happen to hate Lieberman because he blames video games for stupid violent children, and not neglectful parents...
I suspect there will be a lot of "new blood", as your tagged article puts it, in the national legislature after this fall's elections. Let's hope they can start to unf*ck things.
Conneticut? Vermont? Same Difference.
I guess I am not looking forward to the Political Right to push fear and offer themselves as the alternative to fear, only to push more fear.
