Taxpayers on the Radio

Monday nights radio show went well. We were on KPSU's Aloud to Get Loud. Click on the May 28th podcast to give us a listen. I totally miffed the bass line on the first song, and my incompetance has been recorded for posterity. Our Myspace is comming along, but our best stuff still isn't on there. We have better recorded versions of Everybody does a little C*ck S*ckin and Zombie Lesbian Stripper Cops, and Devil Town is a cover, so I'm gonna talk the boys into replacing those tracks soon.
The semester is comming to a close, and things will get hectic, school-wise, for the next couple of weeks. After that its SUMMERTIME!

8 Years

Today, my obligations to the U.S. Navy for my 8 year enlistment are up! Hooray for me.
The Taxpayers are playing some houseparty tonight, as well as possibly Sunday too. Monday we will be on Aloud to be Loud with Terri on KPSU, AM college radio, Woohoo! Next weekend we are playing with The Ergs at the Tonic Lounge.
Work is nearly complete on our first album, Exhilarating News. It sounds pretty good, and I'll get it posted for download as soon as its done. We had to let our trumpet player go, so there 'prolly won't be any horn on this album. It was an unfortunate scene booting that kid from the band, but he was not the right temperment/personality type for us.

Ron Paul is My Adult Screen-Name

This is what happens when you speak the truth in the Republican party.
I may not agree with the man on everything, but for the most part his strong libertarian ideals make him the only decent Republican candidate.

Peachy Cobbler Goodness

Flint, Steph, Dylan and Steph's Family were down to visit the Oregon Zoo yesterday. We also went to the St. John's parade, were there was an utter dearth of CANDY! I saw one dude throwing candy to the kiddies in a parade that prolly lasted an hour and a half. I wasn't expecting moonpies, but is penny candy too much to ask?
I also scraped off last years carbon layer off my grill and fired her up for the first time this year. I baked the summers first peach cobbler, of which CK didn't partake. If you want fruit around here you gotta scrounge it up yourself, even in cobbler format.

When Underwear Models Attack

I went to see the new Mark Wahlberg flick yesterday. It is basically a 2 hours of pandering to the juvenile fantasies of mountain west conspiracy crazies, which put me in a great May Day anti-fed mood. It's unfortunate that anti-government types are always looking for some deep dark plot to fight against. It seems to me the open air agenda of war mongers and corporate thieves would be more than enough to boil the blood of libertarians and the working class.
I then awoke to this piece of propaganda. Seems "May Day" and "International Workers Day" are just a little too leftist for the current regime. Your president wants to reconfigure May first as "Loyalty Day". That's right, "Loyalty Day". I think this might be a little over the top even for them. The labor movement in this country is almost non-existent. If you can find ten people on the evening train that can tell me in what decade the Haymarket Riots occured, I'll eat my hat. The Right won by forfeit, the proletariat decided they like TV, BarcaLoungers and cheap beer more than social justice.
By co-opting this day for their own, the administration is denying legitimacy to the complaints of immigrants and workers. The question must then be asked, to whom does one owe their loyalty? Certainly not to those that would deny your past struggles.
